I think ter Stegen has done well so far. Looks to have great potential.
That tendency of his to take the slightly more difficult, riskier and longer pass in the close presence of a centreback is indeed a bit worrying.
But I think that stems from him being a cup keeper. He knows he's Liga quality and wants to show what he can add on to Bravo's already impressive keeping abilities and stats.
I think his courage and confidence suits well with Lucho's ideology and style.
And I also think there could be a possibility where ter Stegen goes up in between the centrebacks during certain phases of play. If I remember correctly, during Lucho's time with Barça B, he experimented a few times with his tactics and formations, including hybrid strikers and 3-men backlines. He also rotated 3 keepers throughout the season, didn't he?
Oh, man. I can't believe I'm saying this, but, I'm actually super excited about next season, especially because of the current crop of keepers!
