In many ways, Marc-André ter Stegen is the perfect goalkeeper for Futbol Club Barcelona. Not just because of his style of play or from a tactical, strategic perspective but also as a symbol. In contrast to other goalkeepers he isn't a giant. His height measures between 1.87 meters and 1.89 meters, but it is frequently questioned. Insiders claim that his height is somewhere between 1.80 meters and 1.85 meters.

I think ter Stegen has done well so far. Looks to have great potential.

That tendency of his to take the slightly more difficult, riskier and longer pass in the close presence of a centreback is indeed a bit worrying.

But I think that stems from him being a cup keeper. He knows he's Liga quality and wants to show what he can add on to Bravo's already impressive keeping abilities and stats.

I think his courage and confidence suits well with Lucho's ideology and style.

And I also think there could be a possibility where ter Stegen goes up in between the centrebacks during certain phases of play. If I remember correctly, during Lucho's time with Barça B, he experimented a few times with his tactics and formations, including hybrid strikers and 3-men backlines. He also rotated 3 keepers throughout the season, didn't he?

Oh, man. I can't believe I'm saying this, but, I'm actually super excited about next season, especially because of the current crop of keepers!

That's right. I am also excited to see how Enrique one-up's this current team especially with the transfer ban in effect.

As for Ter Stegen, it is just unimaginable that a young goalkeeper such as him moves into a new club, holds the fort in cup games and then goes on to win the biggest trophy in the sport ever in his first season. He never once performed below average. In every game he was both confident and a reliable asset to the team. Amazing. Nothing short of amazing.
